Spring Break

We are officially on Spring Break and it is about time! I have been waiting for this the whole 4 weeks that I have been back from maternity leave. I get time to spend with my kids. We have a busy week planned too. We are going to go to an awesome park tomorrow for a playdate as long as the weather is nice. Alexander is really looking forward to it, so please don't rain tomorrow. Then we are going to go to church on Sunday for Palm Sunday Mass. Hopefully we can make it through the mass without a meltdown from either child. On Monday, Alexander has an appointment at the allergist to have his scratch tests done. We are hoping that his allergy levels have gone down enough for a milk challenge. Then on Tuesday, Alexander has a dentist appointment. And in between all of those appointments we are going to clean the house and have fun together as a family. I love Spring Break! Hopefully I'll have some good posts with pictures over the next few days. I am still trying to figure out how to get the pictures from my I phone to my computer easily.

On another note, a good friend had her baby today and I am super excited for her. We can't wait to meet Julia's new friend. Hopefully they will be home from the hospital soon!

What a Day!

Today did not start out well. We started out the day with Alexander having a time out before we had to leave the house. I hate starting my days that way and it can't be very much fun for him either. Then I dropped both kids off at daycare and headed to work, thinking that we would be having a team planning day and that I wouldn't have to teach today. When I walked in, I was told that we didn't have enough subs, so our planning day was being cancelled for the second time. I was not happy about that. I don't like to have to change what I was going to do at the last minute. Luckily the day wasn't so bad after that. However, I am really looking forward to spring break.
On a happier note, I spent the day looking forward to the huge consignment sale this afternoon. These sales are the only ways that I can keep my kids dressed in cute clothes. This time I got to take my friend with me. Hopefully she enjoyed it too. Her son seemed to enjoy it and he really loved his "Bob" outfit.
After the consignment sale, Nathan and Alexander met me and we went to dinner. At the restaurant, Alexander started talking to one of the workers. She had a rather raspy voice, so in pure 3 year old innocence, Alexander asked her if she lost her voice. It was quite funny, especially because Nathan and I both lost our voices within the last few weeks. She told him that her voice was just like that, but she did give him 2 balloons to take home.
And now for some cuteness from the weekend

2 months old

I can't believe how fast time is going. It feels like just yesterday that Julia was still inside of me and now she is 2 months old. She is the happiest baby right now. She is cooing and smiling at us all the time. She especially loves seeing her big brother. He is her favorite person. She always has a smile for him. She had her 2 month check up today and she is still a rather large baby. She started off at 8 pounds, 11 ounces and 21 inches long. Today, she was 13 pounds, 1 ounce and 23 3/4 inches long. She is in the 94th percentile for weight and the 81st percentile for weight. She had to get 3 shots today, which she did not enjoy, but overall had a very good check up. The nurse practioner also told me something that I didn't know. She told me that the firefighters had asked her to tell people to put their child's name on their car seat because if you get into an accident, the firemen usually pull the baby out in the car seat and then they know who the baby is. I thought it was really good advice and wanted to share. I hope you all had a good day.

Our Weekend

This weekend, Grandma and Pap Pap came to visit. They thought that Julia had grown so much. It has been about a month since they have seen us. We were very grateful to have their help. Since Nathan and I both work full time, there is never enough time in the day to get everything done in the house when we need to take care of two children too. I usually manage to get laundry and dishes done and that's about it. Thankfully when the grandparents come to visit, they jump right in and help us complete projects or clean the house. Grandma helped me clean and now the house looks great! Thank you Grandma!

We also took a trip to the mall to shop and see the Easter Bunny. The kids looked so cute when they got their picture taken. Later that day, we took our items to the consignment sale. I don't have many items to sell, but the benefit of selling things is that we get to shop early and I like to have a lot of selection when shopping!

Overall, we had a really good weekend! Hopefully we have a week that is just as good!
